Provider Information
Are you eligible for REC Services?
ARRA funding for REC services targets Priority Primary Care
Providers. The following definitions were provided in the ARRA
funding requirements:
Priority Primary Care
Providers: Primary care providers in individual and
small group practices (fewer than 10 physicians and/or other health
care professionals with prescriptive privileges) focused on primary
care; and physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners
who provide primary care services in public and critical access
hospitals, community health centers, rural health clinics, and in
other settings that predominantly serve uninsured, underinsured,
and medically underserved populations.
Provider: All providers included in the
definition of "Health Care Provider" in Section 3000(3) of the
Public Health Service Act (PHSA) as added by ARRA. This includes,
though it is not limited to, hospitals, physicians, priority
primary care providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (and
"Look-Alikes") and Rural Health Centers.
Primary Care Physician: A licensed
doctor of medicine (MD) or osteopathy (DO) who practices family,
general internal or pediatric medicine, or obstetrics and
gynecology.
Primary Care Provider: A primary care
physician or a nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, or physician
assistant with prescriptive privileges in the locality where (s)he
practices, and practicing in one of the specialty areas included in
the definition of a primary care physician.
If you meet the criteria outlined in the above definitions, and
are not certain who your REC partner may be, or would like
assistance getting in touch with your REC partner, please contact
the REC Director, Robyn Leone at 720-285-3245 or via email at rleone@corhio.org.
CO-REC is committed to reaching our goal of assisting more than
2,200 priority primary care providers to become meaningful users of
electronic health records by 2012. CO-REC will be happy to assist
you with any questions regarding availability of services, EHR
selection and adoption, and updates on eligible incentive
programs.
Due to the limited funding for this program, CO-REC is unable to
provide REC services to providers who do not meet the above
criteria. However, anyone not meeting the above criteria is welcome
to use all of the information available on our website to assist
with the HIT needs of their practice. If you are interested in
