Regional Extension Center Receives Grant Extension to Continue Meaningful Use Assistance

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) recently granted the Colorado Regional Extension Center with an extension award. The extension allows our partners and consultants to continue assisting providers with adopting EHR technology and achieving Meaningful Use. This continuation will be particularly helpful for providers who are struggling with Meaningful Use requirements and organizations at risk of payment adjustments in 2015.

The Colorado Regional Extension Center Can Help!

The Colorado Regional Extension Center, an initiative of CORHIO, is one of 62 regional extension centers nationwide that is assisting primary care providers in adopting, implementing and becoming meaningful users of electronic health record (EHR) systems to qualify for federal stimulus funds. The program has coverage throughout Colorado and has created a model of community-based support by partnering with six key health-related organizations from Colorado. While the primary goal of the Regional Extension Center is to serve health care providers in Colorado, the ultimate goal is to improve the quality of health care for all Coloradans.

Colorado Regional Extension Center services, including hands-on, in-practice consultations, are free to eligible primary care providers. For non-eligible providers, Colorado Regional Extension Center is providing educational resources and information via the website and through various seminars and events throughout the state.
