CORHIO’s Janice Whittleton has recently stepped down as director of business development and outreach to pursue new opportunities in the health care industry. She will consult with CORHIO on strategic initiatives for the next several months until a new Executive Director/CEO is chosen later this summer.

“Janice’s contributions and leadership have made an indelible mark at CORHIO and the advancement of health information exchange in Colorado,” said Brian Braun, interim chief executive officer for CORHIO. “I thank Janice for her hard work here and I have no doubt that she will be successful in future endeavors.”

Since joining CORHIO in November 2009, Janice has made numerous contributions to the organization, including:

  • Establishing a strong sustainability plan for CORHIO in partnership with Colorado’s health care providers and stakeholders
  • Engaging communities across Colorado in shared goal setting for use of health information exchange and health information technology
  • Building a solid foundation for CORHIO’s HIE network in Colorado by leading the engagement of 29 hospitals, 825+ providers, 19 long-term post-acute care organizations and 5 community mental health centers
  • Developing strategic partnerships with key associations and health IT organizations in Colorado

“While Janice will be missed, our organization has many talented and experienced professionals who stand ready to support Colorado’s communities and health care providers in their use of HIE to improve patient care,” said Braun.
