CORHIO is proud to congratulate two of its staff members whose outstanding work has been recognized by two notable Colorado health information organizations.

In May, CORHIO's Privacy Officer and Health Information Exchange (HIE) Operations Manager Patricia (Patty) Cerna received this year’s Colorado Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) “Rising Star Award.” The award recognizes the best new talent being trained in health information administration or technology. Patty is currently pursuing a degree as a registered health information technician (RHIT) and was selected for her leadership, advocacy and commitment to the health information management profession.

Additionally, Pamela Russell, Long-Term Care Development & Outreach Manager at CORHIO, was chosen to be the next HIE Liaison for the Colorado chapter of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (CHIMSS). As of July 1, Pamela serves in a strategic role to CHIMSS, leveraging her local, regional and state knowledge with HIMSS national activities focused around the promotion of healthcare information technology (HIT) and the deployment of HIE organizations.

CORHIO would like to extend its thanks to these two women for their dedication and valuable contributions to CORHIO, the field of health information management and the community.
