CORHIO Designated to Advise Colorado Health Care Providers on Electronic Health Records
Date: July 15th, 2010Topics: EHRs, Meaningful Use, Regional Extension CenterDENVER, CO – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced Tuesday final rules to help improve Americans’ health, increase safety and reduce health care costs through expanded use of electronic health records (EHRs). CORHIO operates CO-REC, one of 60 Regional Extension Centers around the country designated to offer health care providers technical assistance, guidance, and information on best practices to support and accelerate health care provider efforts to become meaningful users of EHRs.

Date: February 16th, 2010Topics: HIE, Regional Extension CenterDENVER, CO – CORHIO was awarded an ARRA HITECH Regional Extension Center (REC) grant of $12.475 Million from The Office of the National Coordinator of Health IT. CORHIO, Colorado’s state designated entity for health information exchange (HIE), will enter this cooperative agreement on behalf of the Colorado REC (CO‐REC) to facilitate electronic health record and health information exchange adoption by at least 2,200 primary care providers working in small practices and safety net providers between 2010‐2012.
