Date: September 14th, 2011Topics: Health ITAs physician practices, hospitals and other providers rush to “go electronic,” health care professionals who want deeper knowledge of EHRs and ‘Meaningful Use’ should enroll in the University of Colorado Denver’s health information technology (HIT) program, called the Health Information Technology Education Collaborative (HITEC). Program participants can earn certification in health care informatics and health information management/health information exchange. Some of the enrolled students say they are using the certification to gain the skills to be more successful in their current role, while others say their certification is helping them to launch new careers. Forty scholarships are currently available for qualified professionals.

Each eligible Colorado health care provider can earn up to $63,750 in incentive payments.
