CMS Qualified Registry

For the past four years, CORHIO has been approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Qualified Registry (QR). This designation allows the health information exchange (HIE) to collect and submit clinical quality data on behalf of eligible healthcare practices. For 2022, CORHIO is listed in the registry under our umbrella organization Contexture.

As a qualified registry, our Quality Improvement team can aggregate, calculate, validate and submit measures on the client’s behalf.

Our QR designation allows us assist practices participating in the CMS Primary Care First (PCF) program. PCF practices must meet certain standards to be eligible for a positive performance-based adjustment to the primary care model payments.

Furthermore, participation satisfies one of the requirements for the CMS Merit-based Incentive Payment System program (MIPS) – one of two tracks offered by CMS to meet the requirements of the Quality Payment Program (QPP).

Qualifying providers for the QPP include:

  • Physicians (including doctors of medicine, osteopathy, dental surgery, dental medicine, podiatric medicine and optometry)
  • Osteopathic practitioners
  • Chiropractors
  • Physician assistants
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Clinical nurse specialists
  • Certified registered nurse anesthetists
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Clinical psychologists
  • Qualified speech-language pathologists
  • Qualified audiologists
  • Registered dieticians or nutrition professionals

Among the services we provide through the QR:

  • Validating data sources
  • Assisting with data mapping
  • Helping practices understand measure definitions
  • Reporting for the quality category Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQM) by utilizing clinical care documents
  • Reporting for measures in the Promoting Interoperability category
  • Correcting inaccuracies in reporting
  • Reporting MIPS data -- including selection of measures and data validation
  • Providing quarterly feedback reports for participating clinicians

Benefits of our registry services
In short, our QR services could take the stress out of reporting quality measures for MIPS, QPP, PCF, Advanced Payment Models and other programs to help your organization reach its goals while improving outcomes for your customers and communities. It can also improve reimbursements, the integrity of data and may give practices bi-directional status for their Promoting Interoperability measure to support transitions of care.
